Own a DSLR camera and gear but dont really know how to get the best out of it? Then maybe this short beginners course is for you. Over three consecutive weeks weeks, 2 hours on a sunday afternoon will get you into the exciting world of digital photography and you will find yourself taking better photos.

COURSE OUTLINE
MARCH 4th  SUNDAY  2 to 4 pm LESSON 1 – Introduction to DSLR basics including short history of DSLR, what is a DSLR, how does digital work, depth of field, aperture, lenses, ISO or film speed, shutter speed, modes on a DSLR, manual vs automatic, lighting, taking a better photo. Homework project: Take photos with new settings learnt in class. Bring to lesson 2 for analysis.

MARCH 11th SUNDAY 2 to 4 pm LESSON 2 - Flash photography, natural lighting, composition, rule of thirds. Homework project: practice learnt skills in class.

MARCH 18th SUNDAY 2 to 4 pm LESSON 3 – Basic manipulation of RAW images, handling files, how to resize, what are pixels, different lenses to add to your collection, tips and hints about minimizing costs of equipment and printing. Feedback about the course.

COURSE COST: Special introductory offer of $60 per person ( must be paid by Feburary 10th to ensure your place) A MAXIMUM of 8 people to allow for personal advice time) If more than 8 apply I can run another course in April or May. COURSE REQUIREMENTS: Only yourself and your digital SLR camera and gear. Maybe a pen and paper or laptop to take notes. No recording of this course either digitally or otherwise is permitted.
